Speculation

Over the last month of so there has been many questions as to what is going to happen to all of us employees as our company disbands. When the people have little information, the speculation begins. In a way it is kind of fun trying to guess at the future when you are completely devoid of information. The less information we have, the wilder our predictions start to become. The scenarios tend to polarize into the very best and absolutely worst outcomes. I have been greatly discouraged that the company has withheld all information about our futures, even when the final days are supposedly upon us. It seems every day I am waking up and wondering if it will be the last day that I am working. Most days, thus far, I have been lucky enough to know that I have a job tomorrow, but after that I can only speculate.

Easter 2008

(or the one where my dad watched Jerry Springer)

This Easter started like any other, with a miserable commute home. The usual 5 hour drive took 7 hours. The next morning I sat down and watched Jerry Springer with my mom and dad. In the episode two brothers were fighting over a larger woman, when suddenly they started to run after each other in a fit of rage. Then for some reason they took off their shirts and continued to wrestle. After a roaring cheer of "take of your pants" by the audience, they did just that. Apparently this type of behavior seemed appropriate to my dad for social situations, as later that night at a Mexican restaurant, he proceeded to take his shirt off and start yelling at certain members of our party. In an attempt to diffuse the situation my mother explained to the other patrons that it was okay, and he had just been watching Jerry Springer. On Easter Sunday he repeated the act in the privacy of our home (which in perspective didn't seem too bad).
