Merry Kitchen Tools

This Christmas I have furthered my quest to have the most technologically advanced kitchen of anyone less than a year out of college. Let me list the new amenities that have been added:
1) A deli quailty meat slicer
2) A digital kitchen scale
3) A hands-off garlic mincer
4) A crock pot complete with reciepe booklet
5) A new set of steak knives
Is it kind of gay that I get so excited about kitchen appliances or is it normal that I enjoy shiny things that plug into the wall and make a whirring noise?
