I Know Why My Boss is So Cranky

After running our operation for about a week and a half I am starting to realize why my boss is so cranky. First off no one in our group listens. I would make a suggestion or try to make a suggestion and all of our brain-trusts would immediately shoot down my ideas with their own opinions. Seeing as how I am the least experienced of the lot, I would give in to later realize that I was right and if I would have stayed with my original decision I would have been much better off. Then there is the hindsight bias. It's funny how people are so quick to point out how you made a mistake after the fact when so many unknowns existed when you made your decision. Then you are told to include the group when making such decisions, but then when you try, no one is willing to put themselves out there in case they may be wrong. But afterwards they will ask why I did not make a certain move. So quick to take credit when things go right and so quick to point the finger when something goes wrong. So far being to boss has opened my eyes to many things. Althought it has be frusterating, as the boss I have learned a ton, realized how hard it is to manage people (especially when you used to be their subordinate), and gained a lot of confidence in doing my job when I used to think that I had little idea of what I was doing. That being said, I still would not want to be the boss full time.
